It hasn’t been easy living in a van on a windy, high desert mountain. That’s not not-positive thinking. That’s just my feedback. Here are some things I do to stay healthy.
Eat well
We do our shopping from the local supermarket here. We have yet to check out the farmer’s market, which happens every Sunday, but we’ll do that tomorrow and I am looking forward to it.
Generally, we eat relatively well. It is NO where close to how I was eating while healing my psoriasis but I don’t think we are doing too badly. We enjoy vegetables and fruits. My husband eats meat. We have eggs, milk wheat and occasionally, rice and some junkier food like chips. I love nuts. But I want to “stay healthy”.
I supplement what I eat with a variety of herbs and fun stuff — green powders, fruit powders, mushroom powders. I don’t take vitamin supplements because I choose to get that from whole foods as best I can.
Move, Connect, Breathe
I find this a luxury when I’m smashed up inside a box of a van with my husband. We share each other’s air, space and time, 24/7. Back home, I used to have much more personal space and time to myself and it was challenging to find a sense of self through this transition. And I’ve been through about three transitions over the past four months now!
At the bare minimum, I do this every day:
